Introduction

Rain fell as a blue/gray cat walked up the rock. The rain gently blew through the roof, shattering the silence in the cave, sending ripples across the stream. The cat stopped at the top, he looked up and closed his eyes. The rain lashed against his face, as he mesmerized the world. He opened his eyes with a flutter of wind, the rain lashed against him. The wind took the rain into a current, sending a spiral of water and wind around him.
He flicked his tail, the wind stopped; the rain fell to the ground. He was completely dry, but there was still a steady rain fall, which soon made his pelt glisten with drops. He bent down and was ready to jump, his muscles rippling under his skin. His legs bunched together as he got ready, then he let go. He went flying through the air; time seemed to stop as the sun broke through the clouds. Rain still fell, with rain and sun, his pelt glimmered. The droplets of water seemed to illuminate the room. Then time started again, he went through the hole in the roof.
He stopped and listened. Listened for the sounds of birds, wind, and the rain. He heard nothing; he took a few steps back. Then he looked back into the cave, through the hole. His ears erupted in sound as he heard the birds, wind and rain. He suddenly felt the wind rip at his pelt and the rain lash at his ears. But when he stood back, it all stopped. He looked down once more, and once again the sounds of life were heard. But this time there was another sound. An echo. An echo of life.
